Abstract

Global markets are becoming more volatile because of many things such as political unrest, rising prices, rapid technological change, disruptions to supply chains, and evolving consumer expectations. As a result, companies that work in this environment must have both competitive and innovative advantages. Due to this environment, inclusive innovation has emerged as an important business and leadership strategy. Inclusive innovation involves including the voices of many different groups when making decisions, innovating, and changing business models or processes. Recent studies continue to show that companies with diverse leaders outperform their less diverse counterparts on creativity, adaptability, and profitability over the long term. This is because diverse leaders provide different viewpoints, have better problem-solving skills, and can adapt effectively in crisis situations. Inclusive leadership also helps organizations identify underserved customers, develop socially aware products, and create an engaged workforce. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how inclusive innovation allows diverse leaders to successfully respond to a volatile market environment. This paper will provide an analysis of the relationship between diversity and innovation performance, present the challenges faced by organizations today, and suggest how to create inclusive leadership ecosystems. This paper includes one conceptual figure, two analytical graphs, and recent citations to support the discussion.
