Abstract

Today’s global economy continues to be disrupted as a result of many different factors including a worldwide pandemic, increased political uncertainty, and climate change. As a result of all the above, organizations continue to face increasingly severe supply chain disruptions and need to make a fundamental transition from reactive risk management to proactive risk and disruption management. To survive and thrive in this environment, organizations now require Digital Resilience: a structural capability to rapidly anticipate and adapt their operations in real-time to new market conditions while maintaining complete operational continuity. Achieving Digital Resilience will require organizations’ leadership to become transformation-oriented. In this article, we will outline both the architecture of digitally resilient global supply chains and the strategic framework for transformative operational leadership as well as provide empirical evidence of how many of the world’s leading organizations have successfully turned disruption into competitive advantage [2].
